Trend Micro has been involved in Hadoop related Apache open source project for a long time. So far we've contributions separated in projects such as Hadoop, HBase, Pig and Bigtop. In this talk, I'll share you some features we developed and our experience on join the apache community. To be specific, the talk will be composed by following sections: • My development in Apache Bigtop • tips and tricks to join the community • Apache Bigtop Status quo • Feature preview on recent development Let's make some contributions to open source projects and build up your personal influence to the digital world!

Hi, my name is Evans Ye. I work as a software engineer for Trend Micro Smart Protection Network team. Currently, I'm focusing on R&D related tasks which aim to make our our hadoop big data platform powerful and easy to use. As a individual I also interested in devops technologies such as vagrant and docker. Automating things is one of my hobbies, too.
